Currently Accepting Artwork Commissions for February 2024

I would love to create something special and unique to fit your needs. Whether it's a work on paper, canvas or an in-home mural, the commission process is straight forward and I've gone ahead and outlined all the steps you can expect below.

An Important Note on Commissions:
Please take note of my painting and drawing style from previous projects. Commissions are a service I provide for followers of my work and if you've reached the point of seeking to commission me, I will assume you're familiar with what my work looks like. If you have a clear vision of what you want and it does not align with my aesthetic style, then I will recommend that you seek out another professional who can execute what you've described.

// Step 1: Initiating //
Email me (christina@christinakwanart.com) any and all information about what's on your mind for this commission. This includes pictures of the space, desired dimensions, preferred medium, and past work of mine that resonates with you. I prefer email as the primary method of communication and in-person consultations are only needed for large-scale or public murals.

// Step 2: Quoting //
I will respond to your email with a quote or requesting more specifics. I will not provide sketches for smaller projects. If this is something you require, there may be an additional fee.

// Step 3: Deposit //
Once I've provided you with a quote, a 30% deposit will be required for me to begin work. This helps me with material costs and secures your project in my calendar.

// Step 4: In Progress //

Some projects will allow for a number of progress checks, others will not. Feedback is welcome however if significant changes are requested that result in the overall delay of the project, this may result in an additional fee.

// Step 5: Completion //

I will let you know as I feel like I'm getting near the completion of the project. Sometimes this means I only have a few days left, sometimes it means I only have a few hours left! Once I feel like the piece is complete, I will show you and if you approve, then the remainder of the project fee is due.

That's pretty much it! Every project comes with its own quirks and specifications so what are you waiting for?
Send me an email and let's chat.

FAQ

How long does it take?

Depending on the size of the piece and subsequent framing process, it can take anywhere from 4-6 weeks after the initial deposit. If you need the piece by a certain occasion, I will do everything in my power to speed up the process for you! Mural timelines depend on scale, but generally can be finished within a week.

How much does it cost?

This one is a little bit of a tricky question because it entirely depends on the size, substrate, and level of detail in the composition. You can probably get a sense of the price point looking through my shop, but I work with a range of budgets so it never hurts to give me your overall budget so we can discuss the options from there.

What about framing and installation?

This is a personal decision for you to make, but I will happily make suggestions based upon previous experience. If you have someone you work with that knows your style then that is awesome! If you are located far away, then it's always most cost effective for the piece to be shipped rolled so you can frame it locally. Also... you don't have to frame something if you don't want to! At the end of the day, it's your piece to love and do what you will with it.
